Thoughts on Adages
They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. What I'd like to know is how I can convert this "treasure" in my garbage can into cash and buy some things that aren't trash (to me).
If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, is there something I can eat daily to keep homeless people away?
Many hands make light work. Do many ears make easy listening?
Pie is not easy. Pie is difficult. Let's not sell our pie makers short. Can you appreciate how much work goes into making a decent pie?
If the best things in life are free, why do Segways cost $8,000? Clearly whoever coined that phrase has different perceptions of which things in life are the best.
The pen is supposedly mightier than the sword, but guys with swords get a lot more chicks than guys with pens.
I've often been advised to"Be careful what you wish for, it may come true..." That's why I'm so careful to always wish for a Segway personal transporter.
